Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and form. He has masterfully captured the wabi-sabi aesthetic by focusing on the unique earthy quality of ancient Bizen ware, resulting in a work full of highlights that seem to speak to the viewer. It features a quintessential Morimoto landscape with vibrant sesame glaze (goma) against a dark shiso-red base, showcasing a powerful aesthetic loved by ancient tea masters. The foot is styled with prominent, chiseled crepe-like ridges, a unique touch that is reminiscent of the Karatsu style.
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipment).
