Description
This Bizen ware large tea cup is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who shapes his pieces by fermenting the various emotions of daily life, drawing inspiration from the Bizen tradition that has matured alongside the lives of people for generations. True to its name, this "large tea cup" is a powerful piece, more than twice the size of a standard tea cup. In addition to its substantial size, it is crafted with relatively thick walls, giving it significant weight; its solid presence and stability are truly exceptional. This piece features a striking transition between bluish *kase-goma* (dry sesame glaze) and *hidasuki* (fire cord) markings, split down the middle, allowing the landscape of the clay to be viewed across a grand scale that matches its imposing body.
