Description
This is the latest Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln by Kazuki Nakamura, a potter who creates deeply evocative works that carry on the legacy of master sake ware artisans Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. Drawing on the ceramic techniques inherited from his grandfather and father—both renowned for their sake vessels—he masterfully achieves a perfect balance of ease of use, the distinctive charm of earthenware, and an ability to enhance the flavor of the sake itself. This series features the "red skin" (aka-hada) often seen on his sake flasks, decorated with well-melted sesame glaze (goma) and ash covering (haikaburi). It is designed not only for its aesthetic beauty, but also to allow for a deeper enjoyment of sake, with a gentle texture and a transformation in appearance when moistened during use. The wide, flared shape is designed so that the nose fits comfortably inside, allowing the user to fully appreciate the unique aroma of Japanese sake.
