Description
This is a new Bizen sake flask by Kazuki Nakamura, a creator of profound works who follows in the lineage of the master sake vessel makers, the late Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. While inheriting the traditions of these masters, this flask bears the unique, personal touch that distinguishes Kazuki’s style from that of his father and grandfather. Based on the Nakamura family's signature *henko* (flattened) flask design, its bulbous, turnip-like shape allows it to fit perfectly in the palm when held by the neck. The entire piece is enveloped in a tasteful *yohen* (kiln change) of mingled matte *kase* and *sangiri* (smoky gray) effects, which further accentuate the vibrant scarlet *hi-iro* on the front. This scarlet hue is a magnificent color reminiscent of a ripened fruit, showcasing the exquisite quality of the clay that is characteristic of the Nakamura family—a work that is as beautiful to hold as it is to behold.
