Description

This is a new Bizen ware plate by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates works with deep, nuanced character, following in the footsteps of the master sake vessel craftsmen Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. While inheriting the lineage of these masters, this plate features the unique, personal flair that defines Kazuki’s style, distinct from that of his father and grandfather. It retains the deep, evocative scarlet clay texture that captivates sake enthusiasts, while the hand-beaten technique brings out a soft, earthen aesthetic. The signature scarlet hue of the Nakamura family truly comes to life when dampened; we recommend soaking the plate in water before use, which serves both to protect the surface and to enhance its stunning color. The clay itself has a remarkably fine grain, and with continued use, it will grow increasingly seasoned, developing a softer, smoother texture. Paper box
