Description
This Bizen sake flask is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, a master artisan who creates deeply flavorful pieces, carrying on the tradition of his grandfather, the legendary Rokuro Nakamura, and his father, Makoto Nakamura. While inheriting the expertise of these masters, this flask reflects Kazuki’s own unique style, infusing a distinctive character that sets his work apart from his predecessors. Clad in a "kase-goma" (dry, crusty sesame glaze) reminiscent of tree bark, the flask artfully reveals a beautiful scarlet hue at key points—such as on the front and neck—almost as if opening a kimono. The deep, rich scarlet clay body, a closely guarded secret of the Nakamura family, is breathtakingly beautiful; it is a piece that delights the eye and the hand, and one that will develop an even smoother texture with use, offering immense potential as a sake vessel. With a capacity of slightly under two "go" (approx. 360ml), it is the perfect size for an evening drink, though its vibrant red surface, which glows when moistened with sake, is sure to be a highlight even at gatherings with friends.
