Description
Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was made around 2008.
He creates his work using standard Bizen clay and applies black clay after the piece has dried.
"Kuro" (black) is made from clay with a high iron content sourced from the Osafune district of Okayama Prefecture.
A small amount of cobalt is added after dissolving the materials in water to create a liquid slip.
The black clay applied to the piece turns a beautiful black color when fired.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
