Description
Takashi Soga researches ancient Bizen ware and uses it as inspiration for his creative work.
He does not use any kiln tools made with modern chemicals.
He aims to recreate the environment in which ancient Bizen ware was produced within his own atelier.
His work, created in this unique environment, bears a striking resemblance to ancient Bizen ware.
This piece is his new sake pourer, which was just fired in July 2020.
Due to the unique influence of his kiln, many of his works feature a bright red clay color.
He was born in Tokyo in 1984.
He became a disciple of Jun Isezaki in 2009.
He built a kiln in Bizen City in 2012 and began his career as a ceramist the following year.
