Description

I guessed that he fired this piece when he was about 60 years old.
He fired it in his brother Toyo Kaneshige's kiln or in his new Maruyama-Gama kiln.
The balance between the body and the spout is special, and the neck and spout are large.
But I don't feel uncomfortable; in fact, I feel it has a very good posture.
The Kigoma, Koge-Goma, and lightly glowing clay colors are very nice.
When left in place, this Tokkuri is very quiet and has a low presence.
But once you pick it up and start using it, it starts to tell you a lot of things.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1909.
He was an assistant to his older brother Toyo Kaneshige.
He built a kiln in Maruyama, Okayama Prefecture, in 1964.
A few years later, he perfected Hidasuki using an electric kiln.
He returned to Bizen City in 1982.
He died in 1995.
