Description

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This new work was fired in 2021.
This work is made using special white clay collected in the Inbe area.
He fired it without glaze, but the components of the white clay produced a fire pattern with a different color from traditional Bizen ware.
What would originally be yellow or brown goma (ash glaze), close to gold, changed to a muddy white or translucent blue.
There are traces of shells on the inside.
The clay color turns a bright orange in reaction to the components of the shells.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and began his career in 2000.
