Description
From an early age, he learned the spirit of the Kaneshige family and how to prepare clay.
His recent works consist mainly of glazed pieces and those with very few fire patterns.
This sakazuki was fired in June 2021 using the kiln he inherited from his father and grandfather.
This sakazuki features a green "kase-goma" reminiscent of melon skin and a beautiful red clay color.
These are Kaneshige fire patterns that are now rarely seen in his works.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1965 as the eldest son of Michiaki Kaneshige.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1995.
