Description

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This chawan was fired in August 2022.
This work was created using special white clay collected in the Inbe area.
He fired it without glaze, but the white clay's composition produced a fire pattern with colors distinct from traditional Bizen ware.
The outer surface has a luster as if it were coated in glass.
What would originally be yellow or brown goma (ash glaze), resembling gold, shifted to a muddy white or translucent blue.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active in the field since 2000.
