Description

He is a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki.
He learned about Kakurezaki's innovative designs and Anagama kiln firing methods.
This Tokkuri was fired in April 2024.
He creates his works using standard Bizen clay, applying black clay after the pieces have dried.
"Kuro" (black) is made from clay with a high iron content sourced from the Osafune district of Okayama Prefecture.
He adds a small amount of cobalt to the clay after dissolving it in water to create a liquid slip.
The black clay applied to the work transforms into a beautiful black color when fired.
This Guinomi features a very special fire pattern.
The bright, translucent light-blue fire pattern is a unique color.
I wondered if this Tokkuri was created using the Hikidashi technique, but it was not.

He was born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1977.
He became a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki in 2005.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 2016.
