Today, I would like to introduce a slightly unusual tea cup by Kōriki-sensei. One of the series that Kōriki-sensei is particularly focused on is his "polka dot" collection, and this piece is one of them. Due to a subtle change inside the kiln, this piece turned an orange hue, creating a lovely landscape reminiscent of rain at dusk. While the usual polka dots are wonderful, it’s nice to see an occasional "curveball" like this one. The deep orange polka dots stand out beautifully against the smooth, orange-toned clay.
