Bizen Beer Mug by Yoshiteru Takariki

Hello everyone. Today, I would like to introduce some works from Mr. Kouriki's latest kiln opening.
We are planning to feature new arrivals on our store website as well, but here on the blog, I would like to pick out and share some of the pieces that caught my eye.

Now, let's take a look at these Bizen beer mugs.
When I saw them at the kiln opening, I immediately thought, "How gentle these forms are."
The rustic design of the handles suits the texture of the Bizen clay perfectly.
If they were made too precisely, they might feel a bit uninteresting.
If they were made too heavy, they might feel clunky.
Aren't these pieces, which embody the true charm of Bizen ware—a type of pottery where striking just the right balance is surprisingly difficult—truly wonderful?
