Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
Starting today, I would like to introduce the sake bottles (tokkuri) of Rokuro Nakamura.
The first piece today is a rare "hidasuki" (fire-cord) gourd-shaped sake bottle.

The unique form, with its bulging lower body like a pouch, is truly masterful.
The deep hidasuki markings covering the entire surface are stunningly beautiful.

The hidasuki on the back is slightly lighter, providing a nice contrast.

The neck, shaped like a spool of thread, is a signature feature of Master Rokuro’s gourds.
Combined with the stone inclusions (ishihaze) on the neck, it creates an incredibly refined aesthetic.

The pockmarked base (abata kodai), created by firing on a bed of ash, is another one of Master Rokuro’s hallmarks.
What did you think of the hidasuki gourd sake bottle by the master, Rokuro Nakamura?
There is an indescribable allure in its understated presence.
Every detail, though appearing effortless, has been achieved through techniques honed over decades.
How much time he must have devoted to sake and pottery.
Having walked such an endless path, he truly earned the title of "Master."
